We had a biker that everyday went from terminal to terminal collecting the memory cards from the cameras used to take the pictures on the operation. Then, he would arrive to the office, move all pictures to the computer and then share with clients. Today, with Cargosnap, they do it automatically.

The challenge

When proof meant physically carrying it

For Seabox, material handling isn't part of the operation. It is the operation. Every step of container handling is the labor that goes into the final product they deliver to customers.

Before Cargosnap, proving what happened during loading and unloading meant a physical, manual chain: photos taken on digital cameras, memory cards swapped by a courier physically carrying SD cards between terminals, and everything downloaded by hand once someone made it back to the office. Estimates were physically scanned. Finding a specific photo later was, in their own words, extremely manual, and the organization behind it was worse.

When something went wrong, there wasn't much the team could do about it. The process was completely rigid, leaving little room to reconstruct what had actually happened.

That inconsistency compounded across the operation. Different shifts, operators, and locations each handled data in their own way, and the gaps showed up where it mattered most: in front of customers. Missing photos meant missing proof, and missing proof meant difficult conversations.

Our approach

From rigid and manual to standardized and mandatory

Seabox hadn't tried another tool before Cargosnap. This wasn't a swap from one system to another, it was the first time the process itself became standardized. Every step of the inspection is now mandatory, applied the same way across every shift, operator, and location. The problem of missing photos no longer exists.

Cargosnap is an extremely important tool in our operations and undoubtedly a facilitator, as it allows us to provide in real time the photographic records made by our employees in the various types of inspections that we operate and in the various ports from north to south.

The solution

From 24 hours to immediate access to data

The clearest before-and-after is speed: information that used to take 24 hours to access and share is now immediate. Customers notice. Especially with automatic sending, which removes the manual handoff that used to slow everything down.

Cargosnap also became something Seabox actively sells on: a fraud-prevention measure, backed by geolocation data that adds another layer of verification to every inspection.

Data that wins contracts

With operational data now structured and reliable, Seabox connected Cargosnap to Power BI to build a live dashboard that tracks metrics such as inspections per device and the devices used most, visibility that simply didn't exist when everything lived on SD cards and paper.

The impact

A competitive advantage, not just a tool

Seabox now uses Cargosnap as part of its value proposition when winning new contracts. Because the solution is proven and validated, it makes conversations with prospective customers (and closing those contracts) considerably easier.

The stakes: Protecting customers' AEO certification

Asked what would happen if Cargosnap disappeared tomorrow, the answer was immediate: many of Seabox's customers would no longer have the documented evidence needed to support their AEO certification. Losing that evidence would put an important compliance requirement, and the trust that comes with it, at risk.
