Damage report

Captures any damage found on cargo, containers, or equipment, with photos and notes for claims and accountability.

Step 1 :

Record container number

This number is typically a combination of letters and digits so make sure you get it right!

Step 2 :

Photos of damage up close

Snap clear photos of the damage from close-up with a clear and detailed view of the extent of the damage. Make sure the photos are well lit and focused.

Step 3 :

Take overview photo of damage

Take an overall shot that captures the positing of the damage without the container.

Step 4 :

Type of packaging

Look at the cargo packaging closely and record the type of packaging used.

Step 5 :

Type of damage

Inspect the type of damage that has occurred, is it water damage, tearing, crushing or something else? Record your findings.

Step 6 :

Client barcode (if applicable)

Verify the ownership of the cargo and its shipment by checking the client barcode.
