Life at a Startup from a Cargosnapper

Bruna Ribeiro • Apr 08, 2021

The year started differently than we planned. We were (are still) living in strange times; 2020 will be a milestone in our lives- forever. It was during this time that my paths crossed with Cargosnap.

Cargosnap, a young company based in Utrecht and Brazil, creating a new way of quality cargo control processes.

As a Brazilian, I was excited about the opportunity to work in a global logistics business and to help bring a new service to the market.

A new product for logistics companies

Launching a new service into the market is no bed of roses; it's challenging yet fascinating at the same time. You have ample opportunities to learn, fail, innovate, and so on. And the beauty in those challenges makes your experience at a startup so unique.

So, why did I want to be part of a startup where I'd have lots of uncertainties, open questions, and so much to do?

Is it chaotic? Yes, sometimes it can be.

Is it messy? Yes, one does pretty much everything.

Is it fun? Damn, yes! Especially when you have people around you who know how to work and learn together while having fun.

Colleagues that make you feel like mi casa es su casa!

At Cargosnap, I realized I could unleash my entrepreneurial side, stop waiting for directions, and implement my ideas. Job titles don't matter; having a hands-on approach is what matters.

You will discover the unknown and learn as quickly as possible working at a startup. Regardless of the number of challenges you may face, the learning is worth it. The cliché: "you're not one more; your ideas count." That's true!

And let me make it very, very clear…

What makes a great company is people. I will always stand my ground for that.

Global logistics business

We have a fantastic team at Cargosnap, but I can't help but say that having Jasper as part of my team is a valuable addition. He is a person who has a genuine interest in people's well-being, always showing that our input is valued. Jasper motivates us and knows that recognizing our work is one of the best rewards. It doesn't cost any money and is meaningful to the team members.

We're all human. Mistakes will happen. Being open to feedback and change will leverage the team and make them work at the highest level.

So, if you're wondering: Should I work or not at a startup? I highly recommend you do so; it is a priceless experience.
